Why Therapy?
Being willing to look at yourself and take steps to improve your life is smart and a sign of health.
The process of therapy is not a quick fix. You must decide that you are willing to work hard to get rid of the impediments that are keeping you from achieving more happiness and satisfaction from life. It is very similar to the idea of working out, building muscles, and strengthening your body. It takes time and dedication and ultimately- it’s your choice
Is it all just in my head?
What you are experiencing may not just be “inner-turmoil,” but “external” problems that need immediate attention. Very often tension or real life stressors can trigger depression, anxiety, and other unpleasant feelings.
Core issues might include:
· Career dilemmas and choice issues
· Infertility and adoption issues
· Parenting concerns
· Loss or bereavement
· Caring for ill parents or family members
· Divorce or separation
· Step, blended, and extended families
As “The Traveling Therapist”, not only will I tailor my treatment approach to your needs, but I will truly meet you where you are! I want to help you find your motivation- let me join you on your journey.
Is what I say confidential?
As a licensed clinician in the State of New York, I am bound by the NASW (National Association of Social Workers) code of ethics and confidentiality. This is a key ingredient of a relationship between you and your therapist. I respect your privacy: What is said between us, stays between us!
How often do we meet?
Many clients and I meet once a week; however, clients who are interested in moving the pace along more quickly or who need to do so, can request to meet more often. We can also sessions bi-weekly or monthly if that is more appropriate.
How long are sessions? Where and when would we meet?
Standard appointments are approximately 45 minutes (a "clinical" hour). We can arrange to meet on an online platform or via telephone; I know we all have hectic lives- some clients have to travel because of work- so I am flexible and happy to make accommodations when possible.
How much for services?
I understand that people have different economic situations and I take that into consideration; therefore, I offer a free 10 minute consultation and the fee is dependent on services requested and will be mutually agreed upon prior to our initial consultation. Generally speaking most sessions range between $260 to $360 for a 45 min session.
